The RAYCHEM RIM-DRAINTRACE-KIT is a heating system for electrically heating an existing roof drain. It prevents the roof drain from freezing. A complete solution to ensure that roof drains are kept free of snow and ice during the harshest of winters and avoid unpleasant surprises associated with it. Frozen roof drain? Not a problem anymore. 

The RIM-DrainTrace-KIT allows it to be installed on existing roof drains, avoiding the costly work of replacing them. Its unique design causes melted snow/ice to flow more easily toward roof drains, thus avoiding ice blockages at drain pipes. The pre-engineered kit includes a high-quality self-regulating heating cable with a factory-installed and quality-controlled cold wire connection and termination, eliminating the risk of installation errors for this crucial connection and making the roof contractor's job easier.

It consists of a central aluminum ring suitable for roof drains up to 355 mm in diameter. The ring has six 600 mm long branches to be inserted into RIM-C heating strips. The kit includes 16 m of factory-terminated RAYCHEM GM-2XT heating cable to be laid between the gully and the individual heating strips. The heating cable is factory-terminated with an 8 m long cold wire, terminated with a seal.

The RAYCHEM RIM-DT-KIT is an effective anti-icing system that melts snow and removes it from the surface of roof drains. RIM-C heating strips provide mechanical protection for the heating cable and guide the melting snow towards the gully.
